Joseph Roussel, an avid Fantastic Rock collector introduced me to the beauty and spirit of the traditional Chinese scholar rock. In China, rocks have long been an essential element in garden design. By the early Song dynasty (960-1279), scholars admiring the rocks character and inspired by the connection with nature found a place  for them in their studies.

With its shape, color and texture, a Fantastic Rock is captivating in its natural state. As an I artist I see the potential of the essence of the rock to create its own world.
